Cleaning your Gardyn Home is quick and simple — most members do it about once a year. With Gardyn Home 4’s easy-clean column design, so there’s no disassembly or deep cleaning required.

When it’s time, Kelby will prompt you for a light clean: just run a citric acid solution through your system, empty and wipe the tank, and you’re done in minutes.

To keep your Gardyn looking and performing its best, use HydroBoost, trim roots, cover empty ySpaces, and refresh your tank occasionally.

Safety tip: Always wear gloves when handling citric acid and follow the PPE guidance on the product label.

Each Gardyn Home includes two built-in cameras that help you and Kelby keep an eye on your plants — not your home. The cameras automatically take photos of your Gardyn every 30 minutes to update the Live View in your app and create time-lapse videos so you can watch your plants grow and share their progress.

For Gardyn members, these images also help Kelby fine-tune lighting, watering, and care recommendations to keep your plants healthy and thriving.

A few important details:

The cameras are stationary, facing only your plants — never your surroundings.
No audio is recorded.
Images are securely stored and used solely to support your Gardyn experience.

You’re always in control:

If you’d like to turn the cameras off, open your Gardyn app, tap the three-line menu in the top left, and go to Settings → Gardyn Cameras. When the toggle is green, the cameras are on; when grey, they’re off.

Just note: disabling the cameras means Kelby can’t monitor your plants or provide personalized guidance.

Gardyn is designed for efficiency:

Water: Depending upon plant types grown, the Home water usage is estimated about the same as 5-6 dishwasher loads per month — around 95% less than traditional gardening.
Electricity: For the Home, electricity usage is estimated as comparable to a stand alone tower fan.
