For as long as you have Kelby AI, enjoy monthly shopping credits that will provide plants and plant food for your classroom.

Gardyn is designed for indoor growing only, and using only two square feet, the device is compact enough to fit any classroom. You’ll want to make sure your device has access to a power outlet, but you don’t need to worry about placing Gardyn near a window – the LED lights will take care of lighting for you! For maintenance, you’ll want access to a sink for monthly water tank refreshes and weekly top offs. If you select a bundle with Kelby, you’ll receive alerts when the water tank is getting low.

With Kelby AI Assistant, you can turn on Vacation Mode which will take care of your Gardyn’s light and water schedule while you are away. This will also make sure your device conserves energy so that you don’t miss a harvest or worry about maintenance while you’re away.

We offer several payment options, including a partnership with Affirm to allow flexible monthly installments. We accept purchase orders and card payments, and are happy to discuss any other payment needs you have. The pump is quiet and will not disturb your classroom. There is a slight vibration in the water tank and you will hear a soothing sound of water flowing inside the columns. Gardyn’s default watering schedule is 3x/day for 5 minutes each over a 24hr period. During the first weeks of germination, the water schedule can be up to 15 minutes.

We typically recommend spacing the waterings out by at least 6 hours. Within the Gardyn app, modify the timing for both lights and water to suit your schedule – or let Kelby automate this for you. This means your Gardyn can run during or after school hours, whatever your preference.

Yes! Our columns vertical LED lights are strategically placed to allow large vining and fruiting plants that other systems cannot accommodate. For the best growth, we offer specialized trellis arms that support the largest and most fruitful plants. These snap on your Gardyn columns so your plants can continue to grow on either side of the column for added support, all the while maintaining a beautiful appearance.

Yes! All lighting and water schedules are customizable and managed through our free app. If you have Kelby AI Assistant, you’ll just toggle the lighting and/or water to Manual, and run with your experiment!

Yes! Every Gardyn comes equipped with two cameras, with one camera on each light bar. Every half hour, a still photo is taken and populates your “Live View” within the free app. When your Gardyn is powered by Kelby AI Assistant, over time you are able to view a time-lapse of these photos! Students find amazement and wonder in the time-lapse images. You can even share time-lapse images with other faculty, students’ caregivers, or anyone else! Rest assured, the cameras do not not record sound or take video.
