Care and Harvest

Aphids and whiteflies are common pests, but you can use our prevention and treatment tricks to keep pests at bay!

Harvest stems when buds have formed and flowers are just about to open, ideally when half the buds are blooming. Hang stems in a cool, dry, ventilated area to dry, then shake flowers from stems for storage.

Taste and Use

Lavender has many uses! It’s calming properties are recommended to combat anxiety and insomnia. Lavender flowers can be steeped in hot water and enjoyed as an herbal tea. You can also infuse the flowers in milk to make lavender cream. Additionally, Lavender can help make your home smell lovely. Put dried Lavender sachets in the rooms of your home, or try infusing both the leaves and flowers to make lavender oil. Lavender flowers make a perfect bouquet for someone seeking a little relaxation.

Origin

Originally from the Mediterranean region, Lavender was used by the Romans to preserve linen. In the Middle Ages, Lavender was also used in perfumes and medicines.
