The Gardyn device does not need to be set up immediately – the plant yCubes that come with your Starter Set can last several months when stored properly. For optimal germination, it is ideal to set up your Gardyn within 90 days of receipt and to keep the device and contents in their shipping box in a cool, dry place in your home.

Starting on 11/03/2025, you have 60-days from the day you connect your device or until 2/28/2026 (whichever date is earlier) to return your Gardyn Device in its original condition in the original box. Gardyn Studio 2 is designed for effortless maintenance, thanks to the same easy-clean columns found on Gardyn Home 4. Most members clean about once a year, and Kelby will let you know when it’s time.

A light clean only takes minutes: run a citric acid solution through your system, empty and wipe the tank, and that’s it — no deep cleaning or disassembly needed.

To keep your Studio pristine, use HydroBoost, trim roots, cover empty ySpaces, and refresh your tank every so often.

Safety tip: Wear gloves when handling citric acid and follow all PPE instructions on your cleaning product.

Each Gardyn Studio includes one built-in camera that helps you and Kelby keep an eye on your plants — not your home. The cameras automatically take photos of your Gardyn every 30 minutes to update the Live View in your app and create time-lapse videos so you can watch your plants grow and share their progress.

For Gardyn members, these images also help Kelby fine-tune lighting, watering, and care recommendations to keep your plants healthy and thriving.

A few important details:

• The camera is stationary, facing only your plants — never your surroundings.
• No audio is recorded.
• Images are securely stored and used solely to support your Gardyn experience.

You’re always in control:

If you’d like to turn the cameras off, open your Gardyn app, tap the three-line menu in the top left, and go to Settings → Gardyn Cameras. When the toggle is green, the cameras are on; when grey, they’re off.

Just note: disabling the cameras means Kelby can’t monitor your plants or provide personalized guidance.

Gardyn is designed for efficiency:

• Water: Depending upon plant types grown, the Studio water usage is estimated about the same as 4-5 dishwasher loads per month — around 95% less than traditional gardening.
• Electricity: For the Studio, electricity usage is estimated as comparable to an incandescent bulb.

Kelby optimizes both automatically for maximum energy savings.
