Maygrove is a newer name in AI indoor gardening, with similarities to Gardyn. In September 2026 Maygrove launched the AI Growbot Verti 30 on Kickstarter, a floor-standing tower that lists 42 plant sites, a 7-gallon tank and automated nutrient dosing. It's an ambitious spec sheet, but without physical production of the AI Growbot Verti 30 in place, many growers have real questions that remain unanswered.
So which AI garden can you grow with this season, and which one has already proven itself in real homes? The obvious choice is Gardyn.

Gardyn vs. Maygrove — let’s start with Maygrove
Maygrove describes the AI Growbot Verti 30 as an AI growbot: a floor-standing hydroponic tower built to automate watering, feeding, lighting and airflow. According to Maygrove, it holds 42 plants plus a 12-pod seedling module in a 2.13 sq ft footprint, with a 7-gallon tank and full-spectrum lighting with a separate far-red channel.
Maygrove says the system doses plant food based on EC/TDS readings and adjusts light, water and airflow as temperature and humidity change. A built-in 4K camera and an in-app assistant called Mavi handle monitoring, alongside Smart, Thrive, Eco and Vacation modes.
As of September 2026, the Verti 30 is available as a Kickstarter pledge. Maygrove says it aims to begin shipping in December 2026 to the contiguous United States, with its first production batch waiting on certification. It weighs 51 lb and carries a 2-year warranty.
The Gardyn Home 4
Gardyn’s Home 4 is part of an innovative indoor hydroponic garden series from US-based Gardyn. Featuring patented Hybriponics™ technology, it’s revolutionizing indoor food cultivation, ushering in an era of fresh vegetables and herbs grown with minimal space, effort, and maintenance. All you need to get started is a power outlet, a home Wi-Fi connection, and the Gardyn smartphone app. How’s that for easy gardening?
Getting the green thumb of approval with Gardyn
With both systems list at $899, Maygrove specs state the device can hold a few additional plants than Gardyn with a larger tank. However, Gardyn brings something a new launch can't: an AI gardener that has spent years growing alongside real households, in a lighter frame that fits almost anywhere, with an existing community of thousands of existing Gardyners.
Where the Gardyn really starts to pull ahead is in its technology. With its Home 4, take advantage of the features that’ll put your indoor garden front and center (and setting it apart from competition):
Monitor every plant with two built-in cameras and Kelby's AI plant health checks
Track humidity, temperature and water level with onboard sensors
Travel with vacation mode, and watch your garden grow with timelapse videos
Check in anytime with live plant view in the Gardyn app

The verdict: Gardyn
Home 4 vs. Maygrove
Maygrove's spec sheet is ambitious: more plant sites, a larger tank, a seedling module and automated nutrient dosing. If those specs matter most to you and you're comfortable waiting for a first production run that is untested and unverified, it's worth watching. For most growers who want an AI garden working in their home this season, the math points to Gardyn Home 4.
- Both the Gardyn Home 4 and Gardyn Studio 2 are available to ship now—no waiting until December 2026
- With proven AI, Kelby already helps real households grow, with two cameras watching every plant
- Gardyn's longer warranty coverage means you are covered for 3-years as opposed to Maygrove's 2-year warranty.
- Weighing just 20 lbs and coming in at 2 sq. ft. compared to Maygrove's advertised specs of 51 lbs and 2.13 sq ft., the Gardyn Home is easier to live with
- Got plant questions? We have plant experts—and an impressive Knowledge & Help Center to guide you during your Gardyning journey
- When taking into account Gardyn's extensive plant portfolio, the pre-seeded yCubes and member-only varieties make the ready-to-grow options endless
- Need a smaller device for a smaller budget? Gardyn has all budgets covered, with our Gardyn Home 4 growing 30 plants for $899 and the Studio 2 growing 16 plants for $549
