CARE & HARVEST

Pinch the young plants when they are about three inches tall to encourage branched growth and bushy shape.

As plants fade out of bloom, cut off the flower stem below the flowers that are dying off and just above the first set of full, healthy leaves. Do this with all the dead flowers on the plant.

QUICK FACTS

Torenia are small herbaceous plants with opposite, toothed leaves, originating from tropical to temperate zones, mainly from the Americas. Its name was given in reference to the Swedish naturalist Olof Torén (1718-1753). Torenia is also commonly called the “wishbone flower”: the stamens of the blossom form a shape like a chicken wishbone.

Torenia, with bicolor flowers, is appreciated for its ornamental qualities. Packed with colorful and tropical-looking flowers, in tones of burgundy, deep blue, yellow, magenta, rose and white, it will grow 8″ tall and will give an exotic touch to your Gardyn. Torenia is lightly fragrant.
